5 Things to Avoid If You Are Suffering from Skin Asthma or eczema

Your lungs aren’t the only ones that find it hard to breathe sometimes; your skin also experiences the same. Who would’ve known? The skin can also acquire asthma. Skin asthma or eczema is one of the most well-known diseases that hit the skin. If you come to think of it, it sounds scary: “skin disease”. What?! Your skin, the biggest body organ of yours — that one you can barely hide, that one you cannot get off of you — can get really ill?! Yes, unfortunately. This is due to several elements in the environment and portions of your lifestyle which might be harmful to your skin’s health.

Probably, you can’t immediately conclude that you have skin asthma once you experience the “suspected” symptoms. Why? Because its symptoms are just like the typical ones you might have experienced once or twice before, and one of them is itching. For skin asthma, however, you’ll be alarmed because it doesn’t make you just itch; it causes you to intensely itch.

This article is to help those who currently experience skin asthma in the prevention of the worsening of the disease. There are certain things, natural factors, and activities that trigger the inflammation and the intensifying of the skin asthma. This piece is also beneficial for those who experienced skin asthma before and don’t want to experience it again, and it’s also for those who haven’t so that they’d know what could be unhealthy for the skin in general and for the skin with eczema and so they won’t have it.

Here are the top 10 things that you should avoid to prevent the worsening of skin asthma:

Sk

Dusty Areas:

You’re losing nothing with this tip. If there are things to which your skin has high exposure, dust is on top of the list. It seems impossible to avoid dust since they’re everywhere and mostly invisible. Particles which you may see in dust can lead to irritation. They float on air and also rest on your stuff. As much as possible, don’t go and don’t stay in dusty places which are most likely untidy as well. Your house also has dust even if it’s not exposed outside or opened all the time. It has built-in dust particles. Dust mites found in mattresses, pillows, and rags are among the inclusion of dust found at home. They rapidly grow and increase in number when it’s warm.

Synthetic and Wool:

Both of fabrics made of synthetic and wool are really coarse and spiky. If you have clothes made of these, avoid using them; choose cotton instead. The synthetic fabric also has dangerous chemicals in it which will most likely awaken the itch of your skin. Those chemicals used in the manufacturing process can sneak into your skin and irritate it.

Strong Aroma:

The fragrance has the power to change moods, bring life and make a difference, but if it’s too much, it also has the ability to ruin health. Perfumes, cosmetics, detergents, shampoos, soaps and other cleaning materials which have strong, sweet or powerful scent most likely contain strong chemicals too. You might have experienced getting a painful and stingy feeling in your skin after spraying perfume on it, skin rashes on the face after putting some makeup on it or really dry and rough palms after washing the dishes. They can happen due to the probable incompatibility of the products’ chemicals to your skin. Chemicals found in fragrance can irritate the skin and trigger skin asthma.

Furry, Hairy, Feathery Pets:

You surely love animals a lot, but this time, you got to love yourself some more. Avoid too much contact with your pet cat, dog, bird, etc. Avoid hugging or kissing them. An allergic reaction can be stirred up by their skin flakes. Observe distance with them, and don’t let them sleep beside you [anymore, if you do]. Let someone without eczema help you clean your pet and its stuff. The last option would be letting your pet stay safely out of the house to eliminate fur and dander spread.

Eggs and Chocolates:

Oh no. This sounds terrible! According to Eczema Life, eczema can be triggered by biotin insufficiency which can be acquired due to the consummation of eggs. Avoid too much dairy products if you have skin asthma. Toxins in the body rise to the skin’s surface of the skin when one eats chocolate, especially if that person has skin asthma. Insulin in the body rises due to sugar intake (which can be found in chocolates and other sweets), and that can lead to inflammation.

You might have been shocked about the ones mentioned above. They really are the ones you’re used to, but now you have to avoid if you are suffering from skin asthma. Consider them well, so you can free yourself from that itchy, scaly and dry skin which gives you a hard time being confident. Your skin is precious, yet it also experiences some hardships. You need to be considerate and kind to it as it has always been to you. Avoid what it hates if you have skin asthma. In that way, you’ll be able to prevent your skin problem from getting worse.
