Here Are My Tricks To Make Lash Extensions Last Longer

If you are getting your extensions done you probably want them to last as long as possible, right? Many women love the pampering sensation that the lashes provide, but they don’t fancy the upkeep or the short lifespan of their extensions. If you’ve invested a lot of time and money into your extensions, and you want to know how to make them last as long as possible, then you are at a right place!

Make Your Extensions Last By Following These 7 Rules:

Extensions will last you and serve you a lot better than your strip lashes, that’s for sure. When done right, your extensions can last up to 4 weeks. However, with the proper upkeep and the maintenance as well as the regular refills, you can make them last even up to 6-7 weeks, by obeying these 7 rules!

Clean Base:

Your fake lashes and the adhesive (the glue) will stick onto the lid a lot better if the base is clean. Clean your eyes, eyelids, and your face in general, with a deep cleanser before going in for a treatment. Make sure you remove all of your makeup off and pat dry your eyes 15 minutes before the appointment. Make sure you are free of any oils since then you will have the best application experience.

Make Sure They Are Dry:

Your eyelash extensions need to be dry at least for the initial 24 hours after getting them done. This means that you can’t apply any makeup on top and that you can’t use cleansers on top of your face, and you can’t wash it either. You can, definitely, take a quick shower if needed. However, avoid spending a lot of time in your bathtub, or at the pool. Any steamy areas should be avoided. After these 24 hours pass you can slowly, and steadily, come back to your regular everyday routine, and enjoy the power of your extensions.

Special Cleansers:

Your extensions might fall off due to the heavy amount of oil-based products. The best option is to avoid any oils, and rather use a special cleanser for your eye area. Don’t pull or tug your eyelid, and don’t touch your eyes a lot. At the end of the day use a wet and lukewarm cloth and remove your eye makeup off. This might be a slow process at first, but it is a lot safer option since you won’t rip out any of your extensions.

No Waterproof Products:

Using waterproof makeup products will demand an oil-based makeup remover later on. Water-based products are a lot harder to remove since they stick onto the eye a lot easier. Try not to use these, and your extensions will thank you later. Also, you probably won’t need any mascara on top of your lashes anyway since the extensions look good on their own when they are correctly done.

Sleep Properly:

We don’t mean your beauty sleep, although this might come in handy as well. The right way to sleep when you have permanent eyelashes on is by sleeping on your back. Don’t sleep on one side only, since the extensions that are on that side will fall out sooner than on the opposite side. With some practice, you will get used to sleeping on your back, so just give it time and try your best.

Brush them:

Eyelashes are very sensitive, and they demand a particular approach. When removing your makeup brush them through with a special lash wand, a clear mascara wand, or with the so-called ”spoolie”. You can also use a clear eyebrow wand and go through your lashes each night before going to bed. This way you will remove any unwanted excess, and you will separate them and prepare for the next day. Just make sure your strokes are lighthanded and gentle.

The Right Salon:

This might be an obvious step, but it is also a crucial one. The proper application process will guarantee you a long-lasting outcome. Going to a trusted eyelash salon is a must if you want to experience only the best looking lashes. Also, go in for the refills every 3 weeks, and you will have a full set of lashes at any given point.
