How to learn a language?

I usually don’t like to write ‘how to’ in the title of my posts. (It’s really odd for me…) I added it today, just because of the idea of the post. As it is clear that, today’s post is something about the process of learning a language. I will talk about my so far experience with the English language. So let’s start the journey……☺

I remember the year 2016 when I come across an English Pop song ‘Love me like you do’ on the television. Ellie’s magical voice then urged me to listen to her relentlessly. Then I discovered her on the internet and listened to all of her songs and reached to other pop artists. After a little period of time, I found myself attached to this language as I want to explore it to the deepest. I started to link all the grammar knowledge I had to the lyrics of songs and understand it more clearly unlike the way I previously had to learn the language, that is all about tenses, formal sentences, and theoretical bullshit.

In the next step, I started to speak the ‘tense free’ English with myself only, ignoring the grammatical mistakes I am doing in the sentence formation. I practiced it a lot in my mind. I also collected the vocabulary words from the lyrics of songs and today, 7 out of 10 words of my vocabulary are learned from the songs. I never properly learned about the terms like Subject, Object, Preposition, Conjunction and so on, but naturally I am able to use them so accurately. Even today, I’m not sure about what is the subject in a sentence 🤔.

After getting enough familiar with the songs, I also learned the writing skills of English with them. Then automatically, I started to recognize my mistakes in the sentence formation and improve them. Finally, I debut in the poetry with my own poem titled ‘Escaped’. After that, I never turned back. My curiosity was raging more and more to learn and know the language completely and It’s still alive. Now I use YouTube to understand the complicated concepts of English and every day, reading more and more English and adding new vocabulary words in my dictionary to use in my writings.

After getting addicted to the songs, I also fell in love with the language and It built an emotional attachment with English. Personally, I feel that English is my very natural language and even closer to my heart than my mother tongue. I would not say that I”learned” this language, Instead I “loved” this language. I embrace it like my friend and she revealed herself to me in a friendly way and in return, I revealed myself to her. All I want to say that one thing is most important to learn any language in an easier way, that is the “Love”.Just love her and she will love you and then you don’t need to”learn” anything and it would never be a “Process”.That’s how I learned the English language. But If you copy me, you won’t get the same results because of the fact that however, everyone has the same brain and body, but the information inside the box is different from each other and so the experiences and so the life.
