Welcome to Health & beauty.
I hope everyone is doing well.
Today’s article is going to be different. Recently I met a very successful Blogger and Entrepreneur, Caitlin. she runs a business name ALL THAT IT SEAMS. I was quite impressed by her business concept and decided to feature her on my blog so that the world can know more about her better.
Let’s get right to the interview.
Me: Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?
Caitlin: My name is Caitlin Childs. I’m a 26-year-old entrepreneur and soon to be the first-time mother from Vicksburg, Mississippi. My business is All That It Seams. It is a women’s accessories business that creates versatile
products for everyday life.
Me: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
Caitlin: I used to work as a boutique manager and in that position, I noticed that when searching for fashion
accessories, you could often choose between fashionable or functional but you were rarely able to find both. I
wanted to bridge that gap so I began creating products that were functional enough for everyday life but that
also had their own unique sense of style.
Me: What is your mission?
Caitlin: Of course, we want to provide women with fashionable accessories, but we also donate 10% of our proceeds
to animal shelters in need so that the animals can get the physical and emotional support that they so greatly
deserve.
Me: What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?
Caitlin: I have found that being open and honest with my readers and pouring my heart into whatever I’m blogging
about seems to capture a lot of attention. People like to feel like they can connect to what you’re saying so the
more vulnerable you can be about a post, the better it will perform.
Me: Tell me about your proudest achievement?
Caitlin: I am so incredibly proud to say that with each product line we have launched, we have also received a celebrity endorsement shortly afterward. That is such an honor for me and it makes me really excited to see what the
future holds for my business.
Me: What do you do in your spare time?
Caitlin: I love being outdoors and playing with my dogs. Spending some quality time with my family is a great way to
refresh my mind so that I can be more productive each day when I get to work.
Me: Where would you like to be in blogging five years from now?
Caitlin: I don’t really have a specific goal for my blog as I do for my business as a whole. I would love to bring in
enough revenue to be able to donate to multiple animal shelters each month. Knowing that I am making a
difference by pursuing my passion is the highest form of achievement for me.
Me: What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?
Caitlin: Content creation is a big struggle for me. I am still learning every day what my readers enjoy hearing about.
Sometimes I can tend to go off on a tangent about subjects that are not exactly relevant to my business and me and
have to remind myself to take control of the subjects I write about.
Me: Can you name some of your favorite bloggers and explain why they are your favorites.
Caitlin: Probably my all time favorite blogger is Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman. She is a food blogger who blogs about her favorite recipes. I love how she breaks down everything into a step by step process but also adds
lots of personality to her writing. I could read her posts all day.
Me: Can you tell me about sources from where you get products for your site?
Caitlin: All of my products are designed and handmade by me. Often times, I will come up with an idea for a product
and decide which material would work best and order it from a manufacturer. After the material is in my hands,
the products are 100% made from scratch.
Me: What can you tell me about your new products or plans for growth?
Caitlin: I will be launching my fall product line in October of this year. These products have clean lines and rich colors
but are really centered around functionality and keeping you warm during the long winter months ahead.
Me: What do you find the most frustrating aspect of blogging?
Caitlin: Sometimes, I feel like being an entrepreneur is a roller coaster of emotions. As soon as you put new content
out there, you start to doubt yourself and wonder if anyone will even like it. However, as soon as someone
comments on your blog post or tells you how much they like a new product, it all becomes worth it.
Me: Would you encourage other people to make their blog?
Caitlin: I believe that you get out of blogging exactly what you put into it. The more time you have to dedicate to your blog, the more results you will see.
Me: Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?
Caitlin: My profession is the creation of my products, my blog is more of a behind-the-scenes look at that business
and into my personal journey through entrepreneurship.
Me: Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
Caitlin: One piece of advice I would give is to always plan ahead. If you think of a month’s worth of blog
ideas at once, it becomes much easier to provide your readers with some consistency. Also,
never stop improving your writing skills. The better you can communicate with your audience,
the more connected they will feel.
