How Childhood Experiences Affect Our Personality?

Parents often ignore the early stage development of the child, they think child is too young to understand anything but it’s not like that. Child is constantly learning and making beliefs from the birth. If you do not guide them in the right manner at the right time then you can’t change them when they are at the age of 12 and above, says Dr Bruce Lipton.

You will endup using all the possible tactics like shouting, beating and torturing them emotionally and physically and defect them emotionally, mentally and physically for the lifetime.

According to Dr. Bruce Lipton, “The Genes and DNA do not control our biology; instead, DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our positive and negative thoughts.”

The first 6 years from birth is the most important years of the child’s life. Till 6 years child is like a blank tape, it has no recorded sounds, images, or beliefs. Because till 6 years child doesn’t have consciousness, they watch parents, siblings, and the world around them and learn. And whatever a child learns during this period shapes his/her Personality.

We have often heard people saying that the certain behavior of the child is governed by the genes he/she inherited but it’s not true. The child’s behavior and beliefs are the results of information he/she receives in early childhood and how they process this information.

The first 2 years from birth, the child is in the lowest frequency known as Delta. In this stage, the conscious mind is not available hence the mind is in a programmable stage. The child watches the behavior of surroundings and absorbs their pattern of behavior specially parents. During this stage, children learn about the world through their senses.

From 2-7 years, the child is in higher frequency called Theta, its like imagination. During this stage, children develop memory and imagination. They are also able to understand things symbolically and to understand the ideas of past and future.

From 7 to 11 year, another level develops is known as Alpha which is calm consciousness. During this stage, children become more aware of external events, as well as feelings of others and their own. They begin to understand that not everyone shares their thoughts, beliefs, or feelings.

From 11 years and older consist all the ranges from Alpha, Delta Theta. During this stage, children are able to use their own logic to solve problems, view the world around them, and plan for the future.

The child has to learn thousands of fact how to fit into the family and society. that’s why nature doesn’t give a consciousness when the child is born. So that the newborn mind can get fit into new world. During this age, Brain has the outstanding ability to download facts.

People often think that parenting is all about the child. but in reality it’s more about parents. Your child is watching you from the day 1 and learning from you. You must watch your actions in order to raise a responsible adult.

If you want them to speak the truth, you must speak the truth.
If you are lying and telling the child to not to lie. It is of no use. The child is watching you and making believe that it’s okay to lie. Basically parenting is all about parenting yourself first. children will become what they see not what you tell them to become.

Most of us don’t remember our initial two or three years but it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have any impact on our life. the past experiences recorded in the subconscious mind can affect our wellbeing into adulthood. For Example:

If you had helicopter parents who didn’t allow you to make your own decisions, keep micromanaging you and you may end up as a dependent immature adult.

If parents are super controlling, keeps correcting and confronting the child and He/she may end up as a stubborn adult.

If the child consumes lots of aggressive content on TV. he/She might end up as an aggressive adult.

If a child have experienced maltreatment such as harsh discipline, rejection or physical or sexual maltreatment as a child. He/she will be depressed and emotionally weak as an adult

Studies have shown that the type of emotional support a child receives in the first 12 years has an effect on education, social life, and romantic relationships.

When it comes to parenting, It’s all about the child. Teaching the child how to behave, correcting the child on mistakes and programming them to fit in the family and society. No one cares about the child. children often forced to behave in a certain way. which gives the belief that they are not good enough.

Children are programmed to think in a certain way, to behave in a certain way right from childhood. The continuous correction from the parents, societal compulsion and family restrictions limit the child of becoming who they are.

“[Kids] don’t remember what you try to teach them. They remember what you are.”
 –Jim Henson

“It seems like, at least in these early years, the parents’ role is to communicate with the child and let them know, ‘I’m here for you when you’re upset, when you need me. And when you don’t need me, I’m your cheerleader,’ ”
